Backyard Retreats

She-Sheds

A room of your own. Bright, quiet, finished, climate-controlled, yours.

What We Build

She-Sheds

A she-shed is a custom-designed backyard retreat built specifically for you. It's not a storage shed with a coat of paint. It's a finished, insulated, climate-controlled space with real flooring, real lighting, and real comfort. Whether it's a craft studio, reading nook, yoga space, home office, or art studio, the design starts with what you want to do in it.

Why Custom

Not a Kit. Not a Metal Box.

The she-shed movement created an entirely new segment of premium backyard structures. But most shed builders offer fixed sizes from a catalog. We design from scratch: north-facing windows for art studios, clear floor space for yoga, built-in shelving for crafts, wash-up sinks for pottery. The space is designed for what you do, not picked from a brochure.

Questions

Common Questions

What's the difference between a she-shed and a regular shed?

A regular shed is an uninsulated storage box with a plywood floor. A Blue Tide she-shed is a finished living space with insulation, HVAC, drywall, flooring, lighting, and windows. It's the difference between a storage unit and a room.

Can I use it year-round in Louisiana?

Yes. With spray foam insulation and a mini-split HVAC system, the space stays comfortable in 100-degree summer heat and 30-degree winter nights. Without HVAC, any backyard structure in Louisiana is unusable for 4-5 months of the year.

Do I need a permit?

If under 120 sq ft with no utilities, permits may not be required in Shreveport/Bossier. Most finished she-sheds include electrical and exceed 120 sq ft, so permits are typically needed. We handle everything.
